Torch Down (Modified Bitumen) Roofing

The product gets its name from the method of application used to install and adhere it to your home. The part of the material that makes contact with the sheathing underneath is melted with a torch to seal the material. This helps provide a secure hold and creates a waterproof seal that can prevent unwanted leaks (very important for any roof). If it is installed correctly by a roofing pro, torch down roofing can last a very long time. Torch down roofs can also provide protection from heat. Adding extra coats of torch down applies a fire-resistant layer to the roof of a home. Torch down roofs also reflect UV rays, which helps keep indoor temperatures down during the summer. Believe it or not, the installation of torch down roofs does not always require the removal of an existing roof. If your current roof is in decent shape, you can likely install a torch down roof above. If not, remove it so you can ensure your new torch roof lasts as long as possible. Finally, torch roofing is also free of harmful fumes. Unlike tar, torch down roofing systems do not give off any type of harmful, noxious fumes.

Single Ply

PVC (polyvinyl chloride)

Membranes are the go-to for residential, complex commercial, and multi-use buildings. With a track record stretching back almost 40 years, PVC has a consistent performance history that is hard to beat. PVC is also an excellent option for restaurants and commercial facilities with oil, grease, and chemicals, as they don’t like PVC’s highly resistant surface, and it’s incredibly easy to repair and maintain. PVC membranes are available in 50-80 mil thickness, a wide variety of colors, roll widths from 3-6 feet, 15-25 year commercial warranties and lifetime residential warranties. We commonly install many different combinations of colors and mil thicknesses depending on the individual needs of each customer and project.

TPO

TPO (thermoplastic olefin) membranes are the fastest-growing segment of the low slope commercial roofing industry. TPO is often the ideal choice for large commercial and industrial roofing applications that need a cost-effective roof. TPO is available in a variety of larger widths for less seams and less labor than standard PVC sheets. TPO stands up to rooftop traffic, tools and equipment. TPO offers excellent wind uplift resistance and comes with an average warranty of up to 20 years. TPO membranes are available in 45-80mil thickness, white, grey and tan, and roll widths from 4-12 feet. TPO 60mil White with 20 year commercial warranty is the most common industry specification.

EPDM

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) Is an extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane widely used in low-slope buildings in the United States and worldwide. Its two primary ingredients, ethylene and propylene, are derived from oil and natural gas. EPDM is available in both black and white, and is sold a broad variety of widths, ranging from 7.5 feet to fifty feet, and in two thicknesses, 45 and 60 mils. EPDM can be installed either fully adhered, mechanically attached or ballasted, with the seams of the roofing system sealed with liquid adhesives or specially formulated tape.
